- Fair enough. My gripe was maybe a bit over the top, but IMHO,
- the average standard of Amiga freeware/shareware is very high.
- Some packages are astoundingly professional, and many include
- at least locale support, on-line help and an install script -
- these are hard acts to follow for a novice programmer. When I
- first considered releasing some of my programs, I was more than
- a bit put off by the quality you had to match to avoid criticism.
-
- And then there are those who deride a package because it causes
- some Enforcer hits - unfair to hobbyist programmers who don't
- have teams of beta-testers, equipped with every conceivable
- Amiga system setup.
-
- In my case, I am "artistically challenged", so beautiful icons
- are just not on the cards with my programs. I often ask those
- who use the program to submit a good icon, if they can draw.

-
- Again, fair enough. It's generally fairly straightforward to take a
- MagicWB icon, wipe out the background texture and remap it to the
- C= standard 4-colour WB palette. The MWB icon can then be placed in
- an Icons subdirectory of the archive.

-
- The basic problem being that MagicWB icons look lousy without the
- MagicWB palette. Even though I like the MWB style I'd have to agree
- with that.
